The Energy and Water Agency recently launched an online sustainability course tailored for employees in the corporate sector, focusing on energy, water, and sustainable solutions. The course aimed to demonstrate how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can drive change toward sustainable development while fostering awareness of the role businesses and government entities play in addressing sustainability challenges.

Participants explored key topics such as energy efficiency, sustainable water use, waste management, green infrastructure, and retrofitting buildings. The program, which ran from February to April 2025, included weekly three-hour sessions held online. Divided into two phases, Phase 1 focused on theoretical learning, while Phase 2 emphasized practical application through follow-up sessions designed to instill behavioral change using Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) strategies. Attendees gained valuable insights into workplace sustainability practices and developed actionable plans to reduce environmental footprints.

A certificate of attendance will be awarded during the upcoming Sustainability Conference on June 27, 2025, more info will be communicated further on.

This initiative highlights EWA’s commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability across Malta’s corporate and government sectors.
